The Best Time to Work Out
The Best Time to Work Out
One of the most common questions we get on day one: what's the best time of day to train? Let's break down the tradeoffs — morning, afternoon, and evening — because the honest answer surprises most guys😱.
☀️ Morning
You get it out of the way, and it sets the tone for the entire day. Over years of coaching, this has been the single biggest benefit we see: adherence. Win the morning, and you tend to stick to the meal plan, carrying that feeling of accomplishment into everything after it🏆. Scientifically speaking, your cortisol and body temperature are already on their natural upswing after waking, and research links morning training to more consistent routines and steadier appetite through the day. The catch: strength and power can feel a touch lower first thing, before you're fully warmed up.
🕑 Afternoon
Not as common, but it absolutely works. If you're working from home or you get that one-hour break at the office, you can knock out a focused 30-minute session mid-day⏱️ — and just like that, your mornings and evenings are yours. Bonus: by afternoon, your body temperature and muscle function are climbing toward their daily peak, so the work often feels strong.
🌙 Evening
The underrated slot. You're moving your body during the exact window most men are parked on the couch. Physiologically, strength, power, and flexibility tend to peak in the late afternoon and early evening 🏋️ as your core temperature maxes out — so scientifically speaking, this is often when you're literally at your strongest. It's also when willpower runs lowest and productivity dips, so turning that dead time into training is a real win. One rule: leave yourself a buffer to wind down before bed so your sleep doesn't pay the tab😴.
The best time to train isn't the one on paper — it's the one you'll actually show up for, week after week.
The Bottom Line
Results-wise? These aren't as different as the internet makes them sound. Sure — if you can train with more force in the morning than you'd muster at night, your intensity might shift a little. But the lever that actually moves your body is consistency: a schedule you can repeat without white-knuckling it. Not perfection. Pick the slot you'll keep, tell your coaching team through the client hub so we can fit your workouts to your real life🏃♂️➡️, and let the calendar work for you instead of against you.
Keep pushing,
